The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) is delighted to welcome a new member to the ALTA Educational Hub: the National Technological University – Mar del Plata Regional. This esteemed higher education institution, located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, was established in 1999 as part of the National Technological University (UNT) network founded in 1959.

Presently, the university boasts 11 academic majors, offers 49 different courses, and serves a student body exceeding 10,000 individuals. “It is an honor for ALTA to collaborate with educational institutions in the region such as the UTN-Regional Mar del Plata. These strategic alliances allow us to fulfill the mission of making top-level training programs available to all industry executives in one place, as well as facilitating the search for information and access to courses for young people who want to start a career in aviation,” comments Jose Ricardo Botelho, CEO of ALTA .

The aviation industry is experiencing rapid growth, making the training of the next generation of professionals crucial for ensuring sustainable development. This growth must match the increasing passenger demand in the region, which now surpasses 300 million passengers annually. Attracting, guiding, training, and mentoring young individuals are vital steps in helping them embark on successful careers in aviation.

Additionally, the ongoing education and skill enhancement of current aviation professionals are essential to fostering an industry that is resilient, innovative, safe, sustainable, and more equitable. “In 2019, an important step was taken with the inclusion of aviation in the educational offering of the Mar del Plata Regional National Technological University. Now, with this alliance, the multiplier effect, the seriousness and commitment that ALTA provides us will mean a strategic step so that the next generation of aviation professionals is educated in the highest educational institutions,” says Engineer Diego Isacch, Director of continuous training UTN – Regional Mar del Plata .

The UTN-Regional Mar del Plata offers several educational programs now available in the ALTA Educational Hub: These programs are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle industry challenges and thrive in a dynamic, competitive environment. “The opportunity to train, receiving formal academic University education, will guarantee that the Student received will establish a dialogue with his future employer using the same language, while providing greater probabilities of establishing a direct link between the graduate’s need for job placement with the job opportunities that the potential employer can provide. Today, thanks to ALTA, aviation professionals will be able to prioritize their profession,” highlights Favio Raúl Chaher, director of the Aerocommercial and Air Transport department.

ALTA members will benefit from exclusive discounts on these educational programs, as well as gain access to a wide array of training and professional development opportunities provided by the ALTA Education Hub..
