While on the surface a modern Swedish fashion label and heritage Scottish golf brand may have more differences than similarities, both countries share an appreciation for the dreich, a sort of beauty in the bleakness. Not to mention the Swedes and Scots are both crazy about golf. This common ground served as the basis for a new collaboration between J.
Lindeberg and Glenmuir. First debuted by actress Kathryn Newton at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St Andrews, Scotland, the capsule of both men and women’s golf apparel tips its cap to Scottish golf heritage with a blue tartan pattern that decorates many of the pieces. Some items lean on the technical side and others are more heritage driven, allowing the collection to speak both to the past and present.
Take the J Lindeberg x Glenmuir Crew Water Repellent Sweater, a piece which has a timeless silhouette along with a touch of all-weather versatility. The All Over Tartan Sweater, on the other hand, has the classic Scottish look and a luxurious feel thanks to its merino wool construction. On the women’s side the High Neck Compression Base Layer stands out as a top that can be worn on its own or underneath a knitted vest.
“Scotland is synonymous with golf, the heritage is so deep, and with Glenmuir being a part of this it was a gift of an inspiration, we looked at old argyle patterns and gave them a modern look and feel,” said Neil Lewty, creative director at J.Lindeberg. You can browse the full collection over on.
