The events kick off at noon with live music by Siempre, Jon Maez, Jonathon Chavez and Kenny Medina, to name a few. Throughout Labor Day weekend, there will be more than 20 bands performing. In addition to the live music, there will be food trucks, a parade and a 5K run.

1 and 2 Mescalero Labor Day Weekend Rodeo and Parade The Mescalero Labor Day Weekend Rodeo is now a sanctioned rodeo and part of the Baca Rodeo Company's Renegade Rodeo Tour. The rodeo starts each day at 1 p.m.

The parade takes place at 10 a.m. This year's theme is "Honoring and Celebrating our Local Heroes and Workforce Community.

Albuquerque Sept. 5-15 New Mexico State Fair The New Mexico State Fair takes place at 300 San Pedro NE. The events kick off on Thursday with New Mexico Barrel Racing and include shows, milking demonstrations, public speaking contest, agricultural science fair and rodeos.

The concert lineup includes Jo Dee Messina on Sept. 6, Becky G on Sept. 7, Brad Paisley on Sept.

12, Cole Swindell on Sept. 13 and Josh Turner on Sept. 14.

6 and 7 Fiesta de la Luz Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church invites the public to its family-friendly Fiesta de La Luz. On Friday, from 5 to 11 p.m.

, Homegrown Boyz and Grupo Maldad perform. The fiesta continues on Saturday from 10 a.m.

until 11 p.m. Music is provided by award-winning bands La Ultima and Sangro Joven.

On both days, there will be food, a cake walk, games and a raffle. On Saturday, St. Francis de Paula Folklorico dancers perform as well.
