There are plenty of grand country homes in and around Cambridgeshire that allow you to sleep in style. However, Bawdsey Manor on the Suffolk coast offers a different kind of adventure. The allegedly haunted manor is open to ghost hunts and spooky sleepovers.

The manor's rich history makes it a hotspot for paranormal activity. Having been built in 1886, Bawdsey Manor has had many uses, such as a home for Sir William Cuthbert Quilter, an RAF base, and a boarding school. A variety of reports of supernatural activity have been made including people hearing children's laughter when no one is around and sightings of the ghost of the manor's butler staring out the window. The billiard room, former dining room, and main hall all have suspected paranormal energy. Paranormal Eye UK have decided to take on Bawdsey Manor for one of their ghost hunting events and are also offering visitors the opportunity to join an optional sleepover.

Accommodation will most likely be in the tent village, accommodation block, or dormitory accommodation already on the site. The group will perform a séance in the former ballroom, group vigils, and visitors will have the opportunity to split into smaller teams and use expert equipment to investigate the manor. The group will be joined by a spiritual medium for the whole tour.

Bawdsey Manor is on the Suffolk coast off Ferry Road and takes under two hours to reach by car from Cambridge . To get to the manor via public transport, you can take a train to Ipswich, two buses and a ferry. Tickets for the ghost hunt cost £59 per person.
