Login How far do you think a brand will go to get your attention? One of the designers at IWC must have had a moment searching for their watch in the dark because the brand has come up with an idea no one saw coming: the all-over luminous watch. It’s not just the hands and numerals that glow in the dark; the dial, case and strap do too.

IWC achieved this feat by developing a luminous ceramic technology called Ceralume. This patent-pending material is made by mixing ceramic powders with the pigments used for illuminating markings on watch dials. IWC reports that in tests, a Ceralume-cased watch emitted a bright blue light for more than 24 hours.
