My first cruise was the most exhilarating experience of my life. The long trip from Albertville, Alabama to New Orleans, Louisiana began on a warm summer’s night on July 14, 2024. The small rental car was packed full of people and enough luggage to last around half a year.

The trip lasted six and a half hours, but the wait was well worth it. Arriving in New Orleans is always a surreal experience. The sights, the delicious food, and the historical value always seem to blow you away.

The French Quarter, for example, always contains amazing sights and sounds, ranging from beautiful chords of Blues and Jazz to the extraordinary sights of Jackson Square and the Cabildo. Although the French Quarter may have amazing different types of music and attractions, nothing stands out more than the food! There are so many different types of restaurants such as Cafe Du Monde, and the Napoleon House. The delicious foods that are produced by these restaurants are unmatched.

These foods consist of beignets, gumbo, and jambalaya. After another unbelievable experience in New Orleans, the time had finally come to board our home for the next week, The Carnival Liberty! The boarding process seemed to take forever. We had to show all types of personal information and identification and then make our way through the teeth of security.

They went through all our bags and drinks we brought on board, but finally, we were able to board the ship and go on the vacation that we had been waiting on for over half of a year. Boarding the boat was such a fun experience. The ship seemed gigantic and luxurious.

When we finally got to our rooms located at the back of the vessel, it was time to start the fun! The ship departed at 3 p.m. and began to head south on the Mississippi River towards the beautiful island of Mahogany Bay.

The trip through the murky water of the canal lasted for the rest of the day, but when we finally reached the ocean, we faced a sight like no other. The royal blue water glistened in the moonlight with its small, calm waves crashing into the bottom of the ship. The first day of our vacation was amazing, and we still had had 6 more days to go! Another part of the beautiful seven-day vacation was the “Fun Days at Sea.

” There was a total of four of these days during the duration of the trip. These days consisted of all types of fun on the ship. To make these days happen, the entire crew took part in making sure that all 3,700 people were having a great experience.

There were multiple places to eat on the ship including the all-inclusive, all-you-can-eat pizza and ice cream. Some of the restaurants included Guy’s Burger Joint and the Blue Iguana Cantina, as well as a sushi restaurant and a seafood restaurant. There were also two separate dining rooms on the ship.

These dining rooms served food at dinner time to all the people who chose to eat. The ship had other activities to get involved in such as Trivia, Comedy Clubs, Dress Nights, and Movie Nights. The ship was also equipped with multiple stores so that people could indulge in shopping.

The ship also displayed a sports deck that had basketball, volleyball, soccer, mini golf, shuffleboard, ping pong, giant chess, and a walking track. There was also a deck that contained a giant casino for all sorts of gambling fun. The most popular part of the cruise is by far the three pools that are featured across the ship, as well as a giant water slide on the top of the ship.

the easiest way to explain a cruise is that anything is possible! The first thing that we got involved in was the food of course. We then went to different trivia events and won the trivia game that was about animated movies. After that, we went to all the different comedy clubs to see all the hilarious comedians.

If you haven’t experienced a cruise for yourself, I highly recommend it just based on the “Fun Days at Sea” alone. Every day is filled with fun, laughter, and a little bit of competitive spirit! During the seven-day cruise throughout Central America, we visited Mahogany Bay, Belize, and Cozumel. For our first destination, we visited the Beautiful Island of Mahogany Bay.

It is a small resort located on the southeastern coastline of Roatan Island. For this part of the trip, we booked an excursion that lasted roughly eight hours. Our excursion included a fun day at the beach with access to local shopping venues, restaurants, and bars, and it also included a kayaking trip throughout the backwaters of the island.

Despite the perks that came with our excursion, my favorite part of the day was the magical floating chairs, otherwise known as a chair lift. The chairs took us on a relaxing journey above the water and through the canopies of the trees from one part of the island to another in a few short minutes. Mahogany Bay is a perfect, must-see island for any of your future tropical vacations! The second destination that we visited, was the country of Belize.

Belize is located on the northeast coast of Central America. This part of the trip was a rather interesting one. Our ship was forced to dock 30 minutes away from Belize because of the shallow waters that surrounded the country.

Once we departed the boat, we had to take a ferry ride to the docks of Belize City. After we arrived in the city, we had to find our tour guide who would be taking us on our excursion for the day. Soon after finding our tour guide, we all boarded a tourist bus to embark on an hour-and-a-half ride inland toward the location of our excursion.

The trip throughout Belize was an unforgettable experience. During the ride, our tour guide explained everything from the animals that inhabited the forests to the type of government and economy in the country. After the long bus ride, we eventually arrived at one of the most famous tourist attractions in the entire country of Belize.

For our excursion, we got to zipline through the trees of the jungle, go on a buggy ride around the camp, and go tubing in giant caves. Before ziplining, I will admit I was a little nervous, but I was determined to experience the thrill, and I am so glad I did. Next, the buggy rides were so much fun and a little bit muddy, but being able to see the jungle from the tops of the trees and the muddy jungle floor was extremely exciting.

Finally, there was the cave tubing. We got to float through the gigantic cave systems that were around the camp. The water was the most relaxing water that I have ever been in in my life.

Our excursion in Belize was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I highly recommend going, but always remember to bring bug spray when you plan on exploring the jungle! The last destination of our cruise was Cozumel. It is a small island in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. We did not end up scheduling an excursion for this part of the trip, but that did not limit our fun in any way.

Although it rained that morning, we were still able to go shopping and eat the delicious food that Cozumel had to offer. Out of the countless restaurants that were available, we ended up eating Three Amigos Mexican Cantina, and it was delicious. The sights alone will.
