Following a rocky launch week that saw The First Descendant receive an outpouring of player complaints, Nexon’s looter shooter has steadily clawed its way back from the FPS depths. Although it still has a ways to go before it can reach the heights of its more established counterparts in Destiny 2 and Warframe, the game seems well on its way to doing just that after reaching the top 5 in weekly active users on the PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. According to an X (formerly Twitter) post from , The First Descendant sits at #4 and #3 on the PlayStation and Xbox top 10, respectively.

It similarly sits at #3 on the Steam chart, just below Elden Ring and Counter-Strike 2. However, Elden Ring’s spot at the top will probably decay over time as more players finish Shadow of the Erdtree, so The First Descendant could go much higher on Valve’s platform in the coming weeks. On the other hand, The First Descendant’s placements on the PS and Xbox top 10 seem more likely to persist since it’s topped by some of the most consistently played titles in the industry: CoD, Fortnite, and GTA 5.

That said, reaching the top 5 on all its platforms is already a massive achievement in and of itself, especially after its tumultuous release. Of course, only time will tell if it can build upon its growing success. But based on recent developments, Nexon’s looter shooter seems well on its way to doing so.
