The DS SM Tribute concept is being considered to be put into production but it will be a limited run model and it could potentially use Maserati's V6 engine. When DS SM Tribute Concept was revealed to the world, we thought of it as a one off concept which was there to offer a tribute to the old vehicle but DS is really considering to put the car into production, albeit only a limited number of cars will be produced. DS is the luxury brand of Citroen and this could really excite things up for Stellantis.
While the concept showed what the original SM would look like if conceived today, it won’t be a consumer model but rather a limited run vehicle built by coachbuilders and sold to the uber rich for a lot of money. The original SM also featured a Maserati V6, so it makes sense to carry on the legacy and put the twin-turbo Maserati V6 under the hood of the modern SM as well. Steallantis has a history of producing ultra exclusive limited edition models and this will be no tough task for them as well and both Stallntis and DS CEO think that they should build this project if its profitable.
This means that the limited run cars will be priced around €1 million (around Rs 8.92 crore). They also said that people who are buying such ultra exclusive cars are not looking for EVs so this will most likely have the 3.
0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine which produces 562 bhp and 623 Nm of torque. While we would love to see the DS SM in the flesh, it would not really be as exciting if it is ju.
