Over the past couple of weeks, Helldivers 2 players have been focused on taking down the Automatons. This led to the robot army being dismantled to the point they weren’t even fighting back and regenerating their forces. However, instead of eradicating them from the galaxy once and for all, we were directed to instead, a Major Order that has now been completed.
But why? to share a theory that the current Major Order was sent by the Automatons to direct players away from robot-controlled sectors. Recently, the Automatons have been decimated by having supply lines cut off in the Andromeda Sector. Despite the Automatons being in the worst position they’ve been in for many months, Super Earth has decided to shift focus away from them rather than put all of their effort into destroying them for good.
In the Reddit post, they shared their theory saying “Following the division of the Automaton forces, we’ve now been given a new major order to simply eliminate as many bugs as possible,” they said. “I do believe that this is a distraction issued by the Automaton forces. Justify it however you’d like but it’s clear that there are some inconsistencies here.
” They then dove into their reasoning for this theory by saying “For example, the strategic update says that the Automatons are rapidly pairing their logistics and communications. Following the factoring of their donations their defenses will soon be recovering.” Then, the Helldivers 2 player questioned why we’re currently fighting the Terminids when we should have been focused on eradicating the Automatons once and for all.
“Based on the strategic update, we should be focusing on AESIR PASS, CHOOHE, AND CHOPESSA 4! We could further divide the bots and even liberate an entire sector! Joel is trying to distract us. Don’t get me wrong. I like fighting the bugs more.
I mean it’s just more fun, And I know they’re the fuel for our fight, but damn. This is our chance! Or, possibly, last chance to once again drive the bots back beyond known space!” This wouldn’t be the first time that the Automatons have been secretly regrouping and rebuilding their army stronger than ever. A few months ago, the Automatons were completely destroyed.
However, this was all a ploy, and a day later they returned to Helldivers 2 stronger than ever and brought the Factory Strider with them to continue the Galactic War. Some players also believe that s to keep the war going for financial gain. It does seem strange to get the robot army in a weakened state and then just move on from them and let them rebuild.
