I find the best way to get through January, other than with my favourite scented candle, a good Netflix obsession and lots of mugs of hot chocolate, is to look forward to all the exciting things to come. Now another serious player has entered the evening-do arena: the tuxedo suit with a dickie bow, as rocked by Sienna Miller last month. Mark my words – the trend is about to be everywhere. A TREND WITH LEGS If, like me, you are a big trousers girl you’ll be pleased to know that for 2025 they are packing a lot more personality, with the return of the skirt-over-trousers look, plus hero plaid and check prints.
For those whose sartorial look is more classic, the slouchy, straight-leg silhouette (spilling over the shoe), which has been championed by Prada, Jil Sander and Miu Miu, is one of the year’s go-to cuts. While for those who love wide-leg trousers (see right), this style – thank the fashion gods – is here to stay and has been updated with a high-waisted fit, as seen at Khaite and Saint Laurent.
