A couple who live in a house tucked away in a small close in Westhoughton are set to thrill residents with their annual Halloween light show. Number 1 Hemley Close, Daisy Hill, will once again be lit up for a dazzling light and sound show featuring music and plenty of spooky fun this month. Lisa and Paul Spann have been continuing the dazzling tradition since 2021 which raises money for local charities.
(Image: SWNS/Phil Taylor) Whilst the main show takes place on October 31, November 1 and November 2, a special test night took place on Sunday (October 27). Lisa said: “The test show is great for kids with SEN (special educational needs) because we don’t put the music’s volume all the way up, so families bring their children to get the experience of the show without the noise. (Image: SWNS/Phil Taylor) “This year we’ve chosen to support the local charity Fortalice , we asked people who they wanted to see us support and the overwhelming majority were for the charity.
“We love seeing families enjoy the display and knowing that we’re helping an important charity makes it even more special. “It’s so rewarding seeing the local community come together and share the fun. Even the local postman joins in and dresses up, this year he’s going to be delivering the post as Freddie Kruger!” This year's Halloween edition is their biggest yet.
With a 14ft x 8ft scary tree, two gothic lampposts, and a 12ft-long tunnel of lights, the show features an astounding 101,348 LED.
