He may have won the first two room reveals in this year’s season of alongside his wife Mimi, but Kristian has consistently been called out for “cutting corners” throughout the renovation process. Tuesday night’s episode of the reality show saw Foreman Dan crack down on the 31-year-old electrician yet again for “skipping steps” in their main ensuite. Dan, who competed on the show in 2012, told Kristian he shouldn’t have installed the ceiling batts without first installing the insulation.

He explained that they needed to take photos of the insulation to prove there were no gaps because “we don’t guess on , we do it right”, so he would have to pull the sheets down and start again. “He’s cutting corners again and this is not the first week he’s done that,” Dan said in his piece-to-camera interview. Kristian then went behind Foreman Dan’s back to try and get a second opinion in the hopes that he wouldn’t have to redo the ceiling, but was quickly shut down.

Fans weren’t too pleased with Kristian’s attitude, especially because this isn’t the first time he’s been caught trying to “cheat the system”. “Sooooo Kristian has a 100% strike rate for the first three rooms and I don’t mean winning..

. he is 3/3 for cutting corners and not following instructions,” one person commented. “He’s really getting on my nerves,” another added, while a third said, “I’m so not a fan of that guy”.

Viewers were left baffled last week when on the necessary permit allowing their builders to start demolishing a space for their bedroom. Foreman Dan was fuming when he discovered what Team Purple had done, especially because it’s never happened before in the 11 seasons he’s appeared on the reality show. He ended up telling Kristian that he would suffer a time penalty for forging his signature and would be forced to have a “one-hour coffee break at McCafé” the following morning, although viewers thought the punishment wasn’t harsh enough.

“They should have been sent packing,” one person wrote, followed by a different user who agreed, “[They] should be kicked off the show”. “This is more than cheating, they forged signatures. Should be removed from The Block and police notified,” someone else replied.

Following the ‘cheating scandal’, Kristian told that he would like to “formally apologise” for his recent actions on the show. “Never in my life have I done anything like that before,” he said. “It was just such a crazy experience and it just shows how fast actually works, that for you to actually sit there and think it's okay just to forge someone's signature just because you have to quickly get out the car because you've got cameras waiting for you.

“Watching that back and seeing myself laugh about it, I was just like, ‘Oh no’. I probably should have actually let that sink in and actually realised that what I’d done was probably the worst thing that I could have done, and I'm extremely sorry for that.” Mimi added that she was so “shocked” by the incident because she knows it’s not in Kristian’s nature to do something like that.

“I was like, this is just not him. Who is this person and why is this person doing this stuff?” she remarked..
