One of the biggest feuds on this year’s season of came to a head in Monday night’s episode and it wasn’t even between two contestants. , who is competing on the show alongside his wife , has been butting heads with Foreman Dan all season long and was recently penalised for breaking the rules and over-ordering gyprock. He was subsequently punished for “cheating” and given a one-hour time penalty, however, he was seemingly determined to bring his competitors down with him.

In addition to requesting an audit on the other teams’ orders - which meant House 5’s also had to suffer a time penalty as they had a surplus of gyprock - Grant and Courtney pointed out that House 3’s had missed the pre-start safety meeting on Saturday and also deserved to be penalised. “I’m gonna give you a penalty on Monday,” Dan told Courtney and Grant about their over-ordering, to which she responded, “So what are the boys gonna get? Didn’t they miss pre-start?”. “If I get the time penalty, so do [House] 3,” Grant added.

While they appeared to be on the same page at the time, Grant and Dan’s feud erupted when Dan announced Ricky and Haydn’s punishment during Monday morning’s pre-start meeting and said their absence was brought to his attention by Grant. Despite throwing the boys under the bus just three days earlier, Grant was adamant he had nothing to do with their penalty and Dan’s accusation “couldn’t be further from the truth”. “Everything in regards to the over-ordering, I’ll cop,” he said in his piece-to-camera interview.

“What I’m not happy to cop is somebody putting words in my mouth.” Following pre-start, Courtney and Grant went to Ricky and Haydn to tell them that it was “all bulls**t” and they never told Dan they had missed pre-start. Dan eventually joined the conversation to assert his side of the story - aka the truth - which Grant said was “a flat-out lie”.

“My recollection is that it came from you,” Dan said, as Grant replied, “No, it wasn’t and your recollection’s wrong”. With emotions running high as the season hits the halfway mark, Courtney teared up following the confrontation and told Grant she was “f**king sick of Dan”. She also became stressed when making decisions for this week’s ensuite bathroom and stormed off the construction site to spend time alone.

Viewers took to social media to call out Courtney and Grant for “lying” about what they said to Dan - especially when their conversation was filmed. “Do Grant and Courtney forget that everything is recorded?” one person asked, while another remarked, “They just made fools of themselves on national television”. “So over this pair.

Why can't Dan just take them in and ‘play it back’,” a third added, followed by someone else who said, “Calling Dan a liar to his face is disgusting”. “Absolutely over Courtney and Grant claiming they have lied and have been misinterpreted. You are adults.

You should be responsible and truthful for your actions and words,” a different user replied, with another declaring that they should be “booted off the show” for their actions. This comes shortly after Courtney and Grant spoke with about their on-screen ‘portrayal’ and what they think about their ‘edit’ on the reality show. “We love our portrayal so far and the reason why we do love it is because we were nothing but ourselves from day one right through to the very end,” Grant said.

“We may have been a bit quieter during the first few weeks because we were settling in, but even when drama surrounds us later in the series or whatnot, we don't care what people say on Facebook or Instagram or whatever it might be because nobody really knows the stress of the situation and whatnot. “We don't care what people think because we were ourselves. So if people like it, great, if people don't, well I don't care what they think, to be honest.
