Let’s face it, what would reality TV be without a villain? Just like a film needs Joker or Bane to keep the plot interesting, needs someone like ‘King’ George Mladenov, needs people like Olivia Frazer, and needs a contestant like Paige Beechey. We’re only two episodes into this year’s season of the renovation reality show and fans have already decided that Paige is 's new ‘villain’, taking the crown from 2023 contestants Leah Milton and Kristy Beames. The 27-year-old left viewers outraged during Tuesday night’s episode when she ranted at the cameras about the “rude” behaviour of people on set after she demanded to change the layout of her house.

Paige was intent on moving House 1’s master bedroom to the second floor, which was originally allotted to have two guest bedrooms. Her objective was to increase the size of the master bedroom while also moving it away from the other bedrooms on the opposite side of the house. However, the show’s resident architect Julian Brenchley, who drew up the plans himself, wasn’t impressed with the change and tried to explain the original layout to her.

“In a house of this size, you try and keep the family together, in the ‘private’ space,” he said, adding that potential buyers would likely prefer to sleep on the same side of the house as their children. “Good luck with it – I think you’re probably not on the right track.” Following her consult with Julian, Paige certainly wasn’t afraid to hold back her opinion when speaking with her fiancé Jesse.

“I respect him because he’s a great architect, but I actually don’t give a f**k about his opinion,” she remarked. Paige ended up facing another roadblock in her plans when a representative from Kinsman Wardrobes told her that her new guest bedrooms would be too small once you added a bed and built-in wardrobes. “I am not going to be hardballed,” she fumed, before eventually reverting back to the original plans.

“I’m sick of the way everyone talks to me in meetings like this. I’m not doing anything wrong and they’re talking to me like a**holes. I don’t know why people have to be rude.

.” She also yelled at her fiancé through tears: “You need to find some sort of compromise for me, I’ve been nothing but accommodating for you.” Fans were clearly taken aback by Paige’s behaviour, with many describing her attitude as “disrespectful” and “arrogant”.

“Paige is really trying to start s**t with Julian instead of talking things out like an adult, huh? Not surprising,” one person said, while another added, “Can’t believe Paige can’t see the logic of the architect’s plans?”. “Paige is so stuck on her idea that she can’t see reason. The stubbornness is affecting the decision-making.

She just wants to win the argument at this point,” a third remarked. “Have you considered Paige that people are rude to you because you are rude first? You’re literally wasting these peoples’ time,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who replied, “Paige is the poster child for kids who have grown up never being told NO”. Others also agreed with Julian that it was a “terrible idea” to move the main bedroom so far away from the other bedrooms in the house.

“Paige is in for a rude awaking if she has her room on a different floor to her little kids when the time comes, up and down the stairs, half a dozen times a night,” one fan remarked. “No way do you build a master bedroom in a family home, on a separate floor from the kids,” another agreed, with someone else commenting, “As a mother of 3 young kids, as much as I’d love to be ‘away’ from my kids' bedrooms and to have a decent nights sleep, realistically that’s the worst idea ever”. Meanwhile, there were a handful of people who defended Paige and reminded viewers that we’re only two episodes into the new season.

“Clever editing by producers to show all the bad bits only so it seems,” one viewer shared, while another wrote, “People need to stop bullying Paige now”..
