Australia has plenty on offer for couples looking for a romantic getaway , especially when planning a honeymoon. But where are the best places for a honeymoon in the country? We asked our Nine audience to vote in our inaugural 9Travel survey the Aussie Travel Trends Index. READ MORE: Travel isn't always perfect - what are your pet peeves while on holidays? Whitsundays has been crowned the most popular honeymoon destination in Australia, with 1 in 5 voting for the world-famous Queensland spot.



Travellers can island hop their way through the 74 tropical islands and experience some of the world's best beaches and tranquil lagoons. Plus their are a host of honeymoon specific packages on offer by accommodation and tour providers to suit most budgets. Tasmania and the Sunshine Coast were considered the next best options, according to our readers, with the Gold Coast also receiving plenty of votes.
