When it came to community investment, you reckoned Shangri-La Singapore was worthy of recognition, as were The Oberoi Rajvilas and Mihir Garh, which also rated well for their rooms. The PuLi’s central Shanghai location helped pin it to the list for China, and the service at Hong Kong’s Landmark Mandarin Oriental was memorably sharp.
