Actor has been on a whirlwind press tour for her film , and while her fashion choices have been a constant topic of conversation (see: her Vivienne Westwood, Chloé, Schiaparelli and Gucci looks), it’s her new haircut that’s really cemented her place in the It-girl hall of fame. “I first met Daisy in early April, at her first fitting with stylist Dani Michelle,” hairstylist tells . “We all discussed how we wanted to evolve her look for this tour.
” Scarlett is known for this kind of beauty styling: last summer he oversaw Margot Robbie’s Barbie-fication. For his first meeting with Edgar-Jones, he brought a file of what he describes as “Daisy’s best moments so far”, along with a board of dream references, like Penélope Cruz and Jane Birkin. “We agreed to transition her straight-across fringe into something finer and split in the centre, and [decided that] finely highlighting her natural brown hair into a golden, dimensional warm brown and dark blonde would be a great way to evolve her look.
” Once the look was finalised, Scarlett sent Edgar-Jones to for a cut and for colour, and the transformation began. By the time she started promoting , the actor had seen both Maldonado and Schwartz twice. “Her formerly heavy ’60s bangs were sculpted into soft ’70s curtain bangs with face-framing layers, and her colour was lighter without going too far,” Scarlett says.
When it came to styling, the theme of air (from a light breeze to, well, a total twister), was of course taken seriously. “I wanted everything to have an element of being windswept, like the air she would encounter in the movie,” Scarlett says, adding that two products that helped create the look were , and . I personally don’t plan on spending any time in Oklahoma (or chasing storms in general), but I am loving – and thinking of maybe getting – Edgar-Jones’s windswept look.
