What is The Giving Fence along Main Street in Danville? The Giving Fence at Education Personnel Federal Credit Union, 101 W. Main St., Danville, has returned again for community members to take what they need and leave what they can for coats, hats, gloves, socks and other clothing to keep people warm this winter.

Those who want to give can hang any jacket or winter item you no longer need on the west side fence, and those in need can get those items at the fence any time. The fence has been going on for five years thanks to the Danville Area Chapter of Credit Unions. Danville High School Vocal Music Director Jeff Thomas directs the DHS Madrigals at the Festival of Trees on Tuesday.

The group is celebrating 50 years. Is this really 50 years for the Danville High School Madrigals? It is! According to the annual event, centuries ago, at the 12 days of Christmastime, Lords, Ladies, Country Folk, Masters of Revelry and Singers gathered far and wide around Christmas trees in festive castle halls. Food and drink filled the corridors and the rafters echoes with minstrel songs and stories.

Guests have the opportunity.
