Skegness is one of Lincolnshire's top tourist spots and attracts millions of visitors every year. In the summer months, the seaside town is perfect for long days in the sun with an ice cream in hand or fish and chips on the beach. But there is more to the town than you might think and plenty to keep you busy during your trip.

Whether you're just visiting for a day or making a long weekend of it, it can be hard to decide exactly where to go or what to do, particularly with so much choice on offer. North Parade, Skegness PE25 1DB This seal sanctuary, which is the top-rated Skegness attraction on TripAdvisor, gives visitors the chance to meet seals as well as penguins, meerkats, alpacas, tropical birds and more.

Mark J wrote on TripAdvisor: "The tropical house is wonderful with its butterflies and plants but be warned the heat on hot days can be a bit much for some folk. There isn't parking on site but there are car parks nearby and in easy distance." Church Road South, Skegness, PE25 2HF Church Farm is an open-air museum set in three acres of gardens and orchards.

There's plenty for the family to see including Skegness's oldest residence - a "mud and stud" cottage - as well as a Richard Hornsby traction engine in full working order. Amanda H wrote on TripAdvisor: "What a find! I was in my element here. Run by volunteers who are passionate about the place.

Gibraltar Point, Skegness, PE24 4SU Those who like to get out in nature will appreciate this stretch of unspoiled coastline running southwards from the edge of Skegness to the mouth of the Wash river.

There's also a visitor centre with information and a cafe. Anchor Ln, Ingoldmells, Skegness PE25 1LZ With pigs, lambs, goats, cows and chicks being born all throughout the year, this farm is a hive of activity for those who love everything agricultural - and there's lots to do with the family. There's loads of animals to see and interact with. I couldn't recommend it enough!" Or if you want to get a closer look, you can go on a scuba dive inside the tanks.
