Saturday, October 5, 2024 The Thai Embassy in Seoul inaugurated the “Sawasdee Seoul Thai Festival 2024: T-pop Story” on Saturday at Cheonggye Plaza, celebrating 65 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and South Korea. Now in its ninth edition, the two-day festival returns after a hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, organized in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Creative Economy Agency, and various private partners. Ambassador Tanee Sangrat announced that this year’s festival theme, “T-pop Story,” is designed to present a blend of contemporary Thai pop culture alongside traditional Thai cultural elements, appealing to both South Korean locals and international visitors in Seoul.

Over 20 Thai pop stars are set to take the stage throughout the weekend, featuring performances by popular acts such as Seya & Miya, Zom Marie, DJ Botcash, Sisma, Pow, Ally, Eff Rattapong, Fourth, 4Eve, LYKN, Auto & Grain, Ent.Sync Trainees, and Nani Satang Santa. In addition to live performances, the festival will host more than 30 booths showcasing a variety of Thai cuisine, handicrafts, and cultural products, highlighting Thailand’s soft power.



Key participants include Central Group, The Mall Group, Malee, ICONSIAM, Thai Airways International, Thai AirAsia X, Singha, Leo, Spy Wine Cooler, and CPF. TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool shared that South Korean tourism to Thailand is thriving, with over 1.6 million visitors from South Korea recorded in the fi.
