WAKE VILLAGE, Texas --The Major League Baseball World Championship trophy is on tour in the ArkLaTex to honor the Texas Rangers. The trophy weighs 30 lbs. and is made of sterling silver and 24-karat gold.

It has 30 gold-plated flags representing each MLB team. Texas Rangers Trophy Coordinator Cheryl Springer said, "We are here with the World Series Trophy the Texas Rangers won last fall. And I'm traveling around with the trophy.



I'm the trophy coordinator and we go to different towns so the fans can see the trophy." The trophy tour began in April with appearances in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, moved north for stops in Oklahoma, and then on to South Texas.

On Saturday morning, it visited Wake Village at the Golden Chick for a photo op and later that day from 4 p.m. to 6 p.

m. at the 903 Baseball and Softball Academy in Atlanta, Texas. The trophy’s tour will take it to Shreveport on Sunday at Kroger on Ellerbe Road from 10 a.

m. to 11:30 a.m.

and later at the Sci-Port Discovery Center from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.

m. Following Shreveport, the trophy heads to the Golden Chick on East End Blvd. in Marshall, Texas, also on Sunday from 3:30 p.

m. to 5 p.m.
