According to reports citing Canadian customers who plunked down cash for reservations for the machine, Tesla has officially launched the Cybertruck in The Great White North . While the vehicle still does not appear in any build-and-price-type tools on the official Canadian Tesla website as of this writing, reservation holders have apparently received emails telling them they may go ahead and configure their rig. Anyone hoping to purchase at the mythical US$39,900 that was much touted when the Cybertruck was initially revealed all those years ago will be sorely disappointed, as will anyone expecting a machine with a price tag less than six figures, in fact.
Emails viewed by the reporting outlet, DriveTeslaCanada, suggest an all-wheel-drive Cybertruck (in Foundation Series debut trim) will cost $137,900 , while the three-motor Cyberbeast is going to ding one’s bank account $165,990. The former is good for 600 hp and a 512-km (318-mile) range per charge; the latter, 845 hp and 484 km (300 miles) of range. Learn more about the cars Both of those prices are before any fees and (luxury) taxes, which can push that top-trim Cyberbeast to over $200,000 out the door in some parts of the country.
DriveTeslaCanada does note, though, that Tesla’s apparently working on an exemption for the Cybertruck from our country’s federal luxury tax . In comparison, a quad-motor Rivian R1T pickup truck (with 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque) with the so-called ‘Large’ battery pack and an estimated 527-km (327-mile) driving range shod with 21-inch road tires checks in at approximately $125,000. A dual-motor Ford F-150 Lightning in Platinum trim (580 hp, and 775 lb-ft) with an estimated 483-km (300-mile) range with all the boxes checked (including a retractable tonneau cover) lists for $116,945 plus fees, but before current pricing incentives.
Meanwhile, south of the border, Tesla has seemingly had a change of heart regarding one of its most affordable Cybertrucks, with the entry-level trim, priced at US$61,000, suddenly being yanked from order availability. The trims above that have, at around the same time, seen a US$20,000 price hike, bringing the new base MSRP for a Cybertruck to US$99,990 Stateside. Naturally, those six-figure variants are readily available, and offered with delivery before the end of this month.

continue to insist they have more than a million reservations in pocket, while touting early delivery numbers which are admittedly rather robust for this price class, with nearly 4,800 Cybertrucks allegedly delivered in July.
