The cost of living crisis has seen many Brits cutting back on bills and in particular, their food shop. As many of us are looking to reduce the amount of food that we waste it is no wonder Brits are going to extreme lengths to ensure we are cutting back in every sense. Luckily, Tesco has shared a word of advice to customers who buy rice.

Especially if you're like us who tend to cook the ingredients and have loads left over. The supermarket giant has offered handy advice on how you cut back and reduce how much food you throw away. And it is all to do with the freezer, so no need to throw away that rice after you've cooked a curry.

According to Tesco's website, it reads: "What can you freeze besides butter? Cooked rice. "If you’ve cooked too much rice to go alongside your dinner, don’t throw the rest out. "Freeze as soon as possible after cooking.

Pack into an airtight container (portioning into servings if you’ve got lots) and freeze, ready for fried rice at a later date. Reheat until piping hot when ready to use." That's not the only item that you can freeze, Tesco has said that your freezer isn't just ice cubes and a packet of frozen peas.

Freezers are the most efficient when they are full, so make the most of the space to prevent food waste and have ingredients ready to go. From milk and cheese to veg and rice, it seems like your freezer can do it all. Do you have any food storage hacks? Let us know in the comments.
