Sep 14, 1944 - Sep 19, 2024 Terry Van Parrish, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully Thursday at his home in Kernersville, with his dedicated wife Mary Ruth by his side. Terry had recently celebrated his 80th Birthday, filled with joy and laughter at First Baptist Church of Kernersville. It was a beautiful day and Terry, as always, so enjoyed being surrounded by his loved ones.

Terry, also known as Dad and Didi, to his cherished four grandsons, spent his life in his hometown, loved by his community. He built a life based on Faith in God, a tremendous love of family, and lasting friendships. Terry was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2010 and fought, without complaint, for the last 14 years.

He bravely volunteered to serve as a pioneer in a successful study of the tricuspid valve clip at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. This was just one of the many ways he battled the disease and its effects to help others. Always by his side was his wife, Mary Ruth Corder Parrish; his two children, Meredith and Andrew; and their families.
