Pune: The administration has decided to cover the sitting area at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally site at SP College ground with a temporary platform and place chairs on it for the convenience of the audience, after heavy rain in the city on Wednesday. The administration is running against time to prepare the ground for the Prime Minister's rally. Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar visited the venue and reviewed the preparations on Wednesday.
"While there was a red alert for Pune for Wednesday. There is an orange alert for Thursday. It means we can expect some more rain.
We have decided to install a one-foot-high temporary platform in the sitting area. Chairs will be placed on top of it so that the audience do not face any inconvenience because of the mud on the ground," Ajit Pawar said. "The administration has been told to extend the tent up to the entry gate so that people do not get wet while entering the venue.
Along with PMC ( Pune Municipal Corporation ), PWD and police teams are working to prepare the venue for the event," the deputy chief minister said. He said the Prime Minister would visit the Civil Court Metro station after landing at the airport. He would take a Metro ride on the Civil Court to Swargate route, to be inaugurated on Thursday.
