Teenager admits pitch invasion of the Champions League final at Wembley to try get £300,000 from an online influencer By Matt Strudwick Published: 21:23, 24 July 2024 | Updated: 21:55, 24 July 2024 e-mail A teenager has admitted to invading the Wembley pitch during the Champions' League final after being spurred on by a controversial Russian vlogger. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons because of his age, ran onto the pitch just minutes into European football's showpiece final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund on June 1. Emily McNally, defending the teen, told Willesden Youth Court he had been encouraged to invade the pitch by Andrey Burim as part of prank for a £300,000 payout.
Burim, who uses the name Mellstroy online, posted a video on Telegram on February 29 in which he said: 'If you run onto the field in the final of the Champions' League with the Mellstroy logo on your body, you will receive 30,000,000 rubles [£260,000].' But the youth never received any money from the vlogger, and he told the hearing he 'doesn't care' about football. Wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the influencer's logo, he was able to enter onto the pitch by just simply walking down and jumping the barrier as Ms McNally said: 'No one stopped him.
