Teenage cancer patient Liz Hatton was the first member of the public to set her eyes on Catherine, Princess of Wales after she returned to work following her own tumultuous year with the disease. Now the 17-year-old has revealed what she and the royal bonded over . The teen was invited to Windsor Castle on Wednesday to take photos of an investiture ceremony.

When she was diagnosed in January with desmoplastic small round cell tumour, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, she was told she had anywhere from six months to two years to live. She and her mum Vicky Robayna got to work curating a "photography bucket list" of events and people she would like to capture, such as London Fashion Week, musicals, and more.



Robayna had shared the list to social media in May, adding, "If we can make even one of her photography bucket list happen for her she will be beyond delighted." It turns out the Wales family could, with the post attracting the attention of Prince William through the London Air Ambulance Charity, of which he serves as patron. Hatton was then invited to photograph the investiture ceremony, but did not imagine that she would be meeting the royals, let alone the one that had not been seen in months. Hatton did admit she had a feeling she would be briefly meeting the Prince of Wales,.
