Tech millionaire Bryan Johnson, who has been experimenting with anti-aging treatments, recently revealed that his face blew up due to an allergic reaction after injecting donor fat into it to achieve a youthful look. The 47-year-old shared pictures of his swollen, red face on Instagram, explaining that it took seven days for his appearance to return to normal. On November 14, Johnson posted a close-up of his puffy face, which resulted from his "Project Baby Face" procedure.
A post shared by Bryan Johnson (@bryanjohnson_) He wrote, “Immediately following the injections, my face began to blow up. And then it got worse, and worse, and worse until I couldn’t even see. It was a severe allergic reaction.
Seven days later my face was back to normal." He noted that by lowering his daily calorie consumption from 2,500 to 1,950, he became very lean and lost significant facial fat.
While his biomarkers improved, he looked gaunt, with some even speculating he was near death. As his longevity project, Blueprint, gained global attention, Johnson and his team realized that facial fat plays a key role in how youth is perceived. "It didn’t matter how good my biomarkers were if I didn’t have face fat," he said.
What a biza.
