As well as deals with Nike, Galaxy, Japanese sweet brand Puchao and children's energy bar brand Clif Bar, Sky has also brought out a children's book, which she hopes will teach kids to face their fears and learn skateboarding. Sky Brown is the 16-year-old Olympian skateboarder who became Great Britain's youngest ever medallist in Tokyo three years ago when she claimed bronze aged 13 Outside her sport, she's won Dancing with the Stars: Juniors on US television, has released a music single and recently tried to qualify for the Olympics in a second sport, surfing. But despite her riches and fame, there is one person who keeps Sky down to earth - her father Stuart who travels everywhere with her and is also a professional skateboarder.

Speaking to the Mail in March 2024, Sky said: 'I am really thankful for everything I get, doing the sports I love. My family keeps me grounded. 'Having my Dad everywhere with me, he chills me out.

But having good people around me is really important.' Born in Japan to an English father and Japanese mother, Mieko, a nutritionist, Sky splits her time between the country of her birth and the USA where she lived for many years as a young child. She first started to skateboard thanks to her father, Stuart, who works in marketing and is a keen amateur skater.

Sky previously said: ‘I don’t recall the first time I skateboarded but I was little. I’d watch my dad skating with his friends and I’d steal his board and try to do tricks. 'He taught me some stuff even though he didn’t really want me to skate.

It was “his” thing. Also I was a baby. It’s not all that safe.

In July 2021, she won the X Games women's skateboarding park gold medal and in December 2021, Sky won the 2021 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award; she was shortlisted again in 2022.

Sky competed at the US Open in 2016 at the age of eight, and first elected to compete for Great Britain in 2018. Skateboarding was one of four new sports added to the Olympics in 2020, with skateboarding events held in both 'park' and 'street' categories of the sport. Sky's sparked huge new interest in skateboarding in the UK, but she insisted she doesn't feel the pressure to perform in Paris despite winning bronze for Team GB in Tokyo.

'Since Tokyo, I have grown up, and I'm a little bit taller,' she said. 'But my skateboarding has become stronger, and I've learnt more tricks. I don't feel the pressure.

'Having done it in Tokyo already makes me want to show more. Skating isn't about the medals but more about the show you put on for everyone. 'I want to show my best and the beautiful side of skateboarding.

Tokyo was a great show but Paris will be even better.' A girl of many talents, Sky also competes in surfing and missed out by one point to qualify for the Olympics this year. Hosted in Tahiti this year 10,000 miles away in Paris, Sky said she is aiming to qualify for the 2028 Olympics in LA and will 'bring home two gold medals'.

She attends a school in Orange County two days a week.

The rest of her education is online, allowing her to do up to six hours of surfing and skateboarding each day. She previously revealed: 'I get up around 5am so I can get in the ocean before everyone and surf. Then I go home, have some food, do some school, then go to the skate park.

'If the waves are still good, I'll go surfing again. Then I will hang out with friends and have dinner with my family,' Sky previously explained. However, her fame has exploded since the Tokyo Games, when she not only shot to the attention of the British public, but won new fans around the world.

'I gained a lot more supporters,' Sky said. 'Just going to different places, like being in London now, a lot of people do recognise me. 'Going around the world and having people recognise me everywhere is really special.

I've always wanted to inspire. I have seen a growth in skateboarding, especially young girls coming into the sport.' 'Honestly, it's really easy for me,' she said when Mail Sport asked in March 2024 how she manages to juggle training with her commercial commitments and studies.

'This is my lifestyle - skating and surfing and travelling. This is what I have always been doing. I am really grateful that I get to do what I love.

' Sky suffered a nasty fall during the preliminary round of the women's park skateboarding today Outside sport, Sky is still interested in pursuing singing, following her 2020 pop single GIRL - which has been watched at least 29million times on YouTube - and dancing, after her reality TV success in 2018. 'I also try some hip-hop and I play the guitar. I try to do as much as I can,' she added.

Earlier today, Sky was left clutching onto her shoulder after a heavy fall during the women's park skateboarding preliminary round. It was the same shoulder that she dislocated ahead of her participation in the Paris Olympics on Sunday, July 28 - and has confirmed that she will undergo surgery on after her participation at the Games. Her tumble came as she came back down the ramp after an acrobatic move, landing heavily onto her left arm.

She immediately winced in pain, and at first held onto her wrist, before clutching her shoulder. A Team GB member went to check on her but she appeared to be able to shake off the pain, though she continued to wince as she skated off the course. She had a smile on her face as she left the course, though will hope not to suffer any effects from the fall ahead of the final which gets underway at 4.

30pm. Sky suffered the dislocation on Sunday on the eve of travelling to Paris. The 16-year-old was attended to by the team's doctors and physios in a bid to be ready for today's event.

Speaking to Eurosport after her preliminary round, she said: 'I'm just happy to be here. I didn't know if I was going to be able to be here.' Referring to her fall in her third run, she said: ' On my last run I felt my shoulder a little bit and that was a little scary.

I don't want it to get worse. I'm already going to have to get surgery after this – it's just scary. 'If I make it to the finals I just want to put my best out there and fight through it.

' Her total of 84.75 left her fourth and made sure she qualified for the final - though has a big uphill challenge given her shoulder issues. She also had to recover from a knee injury in the build-up to the Paris Games, after she tore the medical collateral ligament in her knee during a film shoot in April.

The teenage sensation finished second in the women's park event at the Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest to secure her place in Paris. That came on the back of missing the first qualifier due to her injury. 'Every injury I've had, I've come back stronger,' Sky told NBC at the time.

'So this is just my time to really think about what I want to do next. It really puts a fire in my heart - it happens, it is part of life. Since the last Olympics, I've won every event and I don't want to lose that streak.

'So I'm going to keep going. I'm going to try to get gold in every event, especially the Olympics.' Team GB Olympics YouTube Sky Brown Paris Share or comment on this article: Team GB's Olympic skateboarder Sky Brown's astonishing net worth revealed as 16-year-old, who boasts 1.
