The Scot made his final professional tennis appearance alongside Evans last week as the pair crashed out of the men's Olympics doubles at the quarter-final stage. A glittering career on the court saw Murray become the first British man for 77 years to win the Wimbledon men’s singles title as he signed off from tennis with three Grand Slam titles and Olympic gongs to his name.

He has since been busy attending other Olympic events alongside his daughter, mixing with Team GB stars and enjoying the luxuries that come with retirement. One such luxury is hitting the golf course and an afternoon spent alongside Evans on Wednesday saw the former team-mates pit their skills against each other in a different sport. Murray captioned his social media update with the words: 'Partners last week.. opponents today' but is yet unclear who came out on top in the golf course head-to-head.

Murray has continued enjoying the luxuries that come with retirement since leaving tennis behind Evans and Murray had hoped their Olympic journey would have resulted in an Olympic medal after initially coming through previous ties in heroic comeback fashion before eventually being beaten by Team USA. Both were emotional as the curtain was brought down on Murray's career with Evans left sobbing at Roland Garros and the Scot later admitting that he was 'glad' to finally leave tennis behind. 'I guess its just nice to have that sort of closure also for me to get to an Olympics as well,' Murray told Sky Sports.

'It was sad leaving the court for the last time but happy, ultimately I am glad I got to finish my career on my own terms, on court, in front of a brilliant crowd,' he added.
