To the deafening screams of the 55,000 or so Swifties in attendance, the woman upon whose shoulders rests a billion-dollar industry emerged on her elaborate, multi-part stage just after 8 p.m.



With that, she, her band and dancers opened the portion of the show devoted to her “Lover” album with "Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince." She followed with "Cruel Summer." For the next three hours, she will preside over a highly theatrical showcase of her recorded history with Broadway-worthy sets, choreography and, of course, huge, singalong choruses.

Opening night at the Dome fell nearly 18 years to the day after the release of her self-titled debut album – the only one of her studio albums not given its own “era” in The Eras Tour show. Swift previously played the largest room in New Orleans on Sept. 22, 2018, during her Reputation Tour.
