As well as the traditional war games dotted around the museum all week, and talks with team members inside the Heritage Hall, specially programmed activities will include the likes of Peg Planes, on Wednesday, October 30, in which participants will make their very own aircraft to take away. A WitchCrafts session will take place on Thursday, October 31, in which workshoppers will learn all about the healing powers of the herbs and medicines used during World War Two. Friday, November 1 will see the Tank Egg Boxes session take place, in an apt fulfilment of the 'make do and mend' ethos.

Additional activities include Halloween Bingo from October 26 to November 3, and Halloween Day on October 31 itself, when every visitor in fancy dress will receive a prize. Eden Camp, which is located on the site of a World War Two prisoner-of-war camp constructed for Italian prisoners who had been captured in North Africa, contains 22 original huts from the time. Displays cover such topics as the Blitz, rationing and fashions, the Home Guard, evacuation, and VE and VJ Day.

Eden Camp is located on the outskirts of Malton. More information and tickets are available at https://edencamp.co.
