Birth: 1939 Death: 2024 Tallulah (Lou) Elizabeth Weiland, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Forest Knolls, California on September 13, 2024. Lou was born in Reno, Nevada on October 27, 1939 to Richard and Pricilla Beale. Her family moved to Black Point in Marin County when she was a young child and then she spent the rest of her life in Marin and Sonoma County.
Lou was always extremely hard-working. She was a waitress at Sam’s Family Restaurant and Embassy Suites in San Rafael for over 50 years. Her customers will remember her warm smile, kindness, and making everyone feel at ease.
In addition to her waitressing career, she was Vice-President/Treasurer for Weiland Industries, Inc. for 45 years, a successful business started by her husband Laurence (Larry) Weiland. Lou worked with her husband to design and build their own home.
It was not uncommon for Lou to work full days at her job and then spend all her spare time working on the building of the home. So, a typical day started at 4:00 a.m.
and ended at dark, she never complained or blinked an eye at hard work. Lou had a passion for horseback riding and a love for horses. She participated in hunter/jumper and dressage competitions and endurance riding.
Her special horse was Monique. Lou, Monique, Larry and his horse Mikey rode hundreds of miles as endurance ride participants. Lou and Larry could ride to Point Reyes or Novato and back to their own backyard.
Lou, with Monique, was also recognized as a lifetime mem.
