Pune: What was supposed to be a two-and-a-half-hour journey turned out to be a nearly 10-hour ordeal for 150 passengers on board an IndiGo Pune-Chandigarh flight for a delayed take-off, poor visibility preventing its landing in the north Indian city, a diversion to Jaipur and finally arrival at the destination on Friday. And all this while, the flyers had no choice but to remain seated in the aircraft. The IndiGo Pune-Chandigarh flight (6E-242) was to take off at 3.

40am. "The boarding was accordingly done, and the cabin crew told us that the flight would shortly take off. However, we kept waiting for the take-off.

The aircraft finally took off from Pune at 4.40am — a delay of an hour. Most of the flyers, including myself, had reached the airport by 1am to board the flight," said Akshdeep Aggarwal, one of the flyers.

Around 6.40am, there was an announcement from the pilot that the aircraft was set to land in Chandigarh. "However, after 10 minutes, the pilot made a fresh announcement that visibility at the Chandigarh airport was very low and that he was hovering over waiting for the visibility to improve.

The aircraft kept flying for around 30 more minutes. The pilot then announced that since the visibility did not improve, the flight was being diverted and would land in Jaipur," he said. Sources in the airline confirmed that the flight was diverted to Jaipur because of "bad weather" in Chandigarh.

The aircraft finally landed in Jaipur around 8.20am. "It was a torture as we k.
