The PX3 was founded in 2007 and has since become one of Europe’s most prestigious photography awards.
Tzeng, from Miaoli County’s Jhunan Township (竹南), has won many gold prizes in international photography competitions. He said yesterday that having wedding photographs taken underwater is becoming a popular trend among young people, and many couples are choosing to record one of their most important life milestones in the water, which appears dreamier. Many women would wear different wedding dress styles for underwater wedding photography, including traditional Chinese wedding dresses, classic white modern wedding dresses or even dreamy ball gowns, he said.
It is challenging for photographers to bring out the beauty of a woman while wearing a wedding dress in the water, as the subjects must learn to hold their breath and receive diving training, he said, adding that they also need to strap on lead dive weights to keep their body submerged in the water for the shoot.
