Actor Tabu will soon be seen in the movie and the HBO series . Throughout her career, Tabu has featured in multiple critically acclaimed movies in both Bollywood and in the West. Despite this, Tabu recently said that she still isn't in a position in the industry where she gets to call the shots.
Tabu recently appeared in an interview with Galatta India, where she spoke about dealing with insecure actors and refusing movies starring Shah Rukh Khan. Talking about dealing with insecure actors, Tabu said, “Even if I say it’s important (to have secure actors), it’s not necessary that you be blessed with secure co-actors. So you have to make do with whatever you get.
When you take up a project, you will have to complete it. Now you do it happily, or be upset about it, have a good experience or bad, it gets completed on its own. That’s your commitment to the project.
Now, how you have dealt with it emotionally, and how it has impacted other areas of your life, you get to know later. I have met all kinds of people; good, bad, ugly. You have no option.
Ideally, it would be great to have a good atmosphere on set, but I also feel insecurity is a very primal human emotion.” Speaking about still not being in a position where she gets to call the shots, Tabu said, “I can’t call the shots and tell the scriptwriter to write in a specific manner. I just get the script, and I will take up the project if I like it, and I will refuse it if I don’t like it.
But I’m not going to tell them, ‘Write a particular scene for me, add an action sequence.’” Tabu then spoke about never crossing paths with Shah Rukh Khan in her acting career. When asked why she hasn’t starred alongside Khan in any movie, she said, “I’m not a producer, nor a director or a script writer.
I’m really not dictating who Shah Rukh Khan works with, which films are going to be made, and which films are going to be offered to me next. I can only say yes or no to what is being offered to me.” She then added, “There were films offered to us (Khan and Tabu).
I know the films I have refused, and I’m sure he must have also refused a few films. So, nothing really happened where our paths were crossed.” Tabu was most recently seen in alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon.
