1 2 Prayagraj : Even as various Ramlila committees of the city are in a race to keep an upper hand in terms of showcasing their tableaux , the ones taken out by two of the oldest Ramlila committees of the city—Pajawa and Pattarchatti Ramlila Committee—stood out. The tableaux, taken out by two committees on Tuesday night, were designed to spread message of environmental protection. The artwork of these tableaux was made from banana leaves and stems, while herbal colours were used to paint the artwork displayed in the background of the chowki (platform) on which the artists, enacting as Ram, Sita, and Laxman, were seated.

"Our tableaux, decorated with banana leaves and stems, showcased the nine forms of Goddess Durga. The deity, her attire, and weapons were all made from banana leaves and painted with herbal colours," said Pajawa Ramlila Committee treasurer Sachin Gupta. Likewise, the tableaux of Pattarchatti was also made from banana leaves and trunks, and the artist showed the different forms of Vishnu.
