Y. — The final game of Syracuse’s season-opening stretch at home ended in heartbreaking fashion for the Orange. After an apparent go-ahead basket by SU was waved off because of an offensive foul, Lily Phillips drilled a three-pointer with 3.

Syracuse fell to 2-3 on the season, while Albany moved to 4-0. Both squads got out the gate slowly, only scoring one field goal each in the first couple minutes of play, before the Orange began getting to the basket for some high percentage looks at the rim. The Orange ended the first quarter with a 21-11 lead.

The Great Danes went on an 11-2 run to start the second quarter, though, to make it a one-score game with five minutes left to play in the half.
