This significant milestone was achieved through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), a renowned global certification body. The certification underscores Swissport’s unwavering commitment to the health and safety of its 60,000 employees worldwide.

By adhering to the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) standards, Swissport demonstrates its proactive approach to fostering a culture of safety, prevention, and risk management throughout its global network. The certification not only highlights Swissport’s commitment to creating a secure and healthy work environment but also emphasizes the company’s focus on continuous improvement. With this achievement, Swissport reaffirms its position as an industry leader in setting benchmarks for occupational health and safety standards, ensuring the well-being of its employees and the safety of its operations worldwide.

This certification acknowledges Swissport’s consistent and comprehensive approach to occupational health and safety management across its diverse range of services.

These services include ground operations like passenger services and baggage handling, aircraft and air cargo handling, fueling services, and the hospitality offerings of ASPIRE airport lounges. By prioritizing safety, Swissport not only enhances the reliability of its operations but also significantly reduces risks, thereby improving the overall quality of service provided to airlines and airports worldwide. This focus on safety is a key component of Swissport’s strategy to deliver dependable and efficient services, underscoring its commitment to the well-being of its employees and customers.

The journey to attaining the ISO 45001 certification involved a rigorous review and audit of Swissport’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) by LRQA, a leading global certification body. This thorough assessment spanned several days and multiple locations worldwide, including on-site inspections to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 standards and evaluate the effectiveness of the OHSMS. To maintain this certification, Swissport will undergo annual surveillance audits by LRQA, with a comprehensive recertification process required every three years.

These regular audits will ensure that Swissport continues to uphold the highest standards of occupational health and safety, reinforcing its position as a leader in the aviation services industry..
