Monday, January 6, 2025 Swedish aviation takes a transformative leap as SAS unveils a major route expansion starting January 2, 2025. With a focus on enhanced connectivity, all domestic flights will now operate from a single hub at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. For the first time, travelers can seamlessly fly within Sweden and to international destinations from the same airport, promising convenience and efficiency.

Together, SAS and Stockholm Arlanda Airport aim to deliver smooth, enjoyable travel experiences for both first-time and seasoned passengers. This significant boost to domestic travel is driven by a strategic collaboration between SAS and Braathens Regional Airways AB (BRA). Seven BRA aircraft will gradually integrate into SAS’ network from Arlanda beginning in January 2025, paving the way for more destinations and increased flight frequency.

Marking this expansion, two new routes will launch on January 27, 2025: Arlanda–Kalmar and Arlanda–Halmstad. Additionally, SAS has introduced seasonal routes, including Arlanda–Sälen and Ängelholm/Helsingborg–Sälen, catering to winter travelers. “ We are excited to kick off the new year by strengthening our domestic network in Sweden, all from Arlanda.

Our new partnership with BRA will make it easier for people to travel to a wide range of destinations in Sweden, for both outbound and inbound travelers. We look forward to contributing even further to economic growth and continuing to play a key role in connectin.
