Pune: Citizens can expect chaotic traffic conditions for several hours on Thursday. Roads near Swargate, Civil Court , Tilak Road, and Deccan Gymkhana will be out of bounds in the evening for the VVIP movement in the city and heavy rain is almost certain with the likelihood of commuters stranded on waterlogged roads a high possibility. Pune Metro 's Civil Court to Swargate underground stretch will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
Hence, the interchange at Civil Court, the main station for commuters to switch between two metro lines, will remain shut for six hours from 1.30pm to 7.30pm.
So people travelling via the Metro to Ramwadi from PCMC building or from Vanaz in Kothrud to PCMC building will have find ways to reach their destinations, including Pune station and the airport. Those travelling from PCMC metro station to Civil Court station will have to deboard at Shivajinagar metro station. PMPML and Maha Metro have said that buses will be deployed at Shivajinagar station for commuters to travel to PMC metro station.
For commuters travelling on the Vanaz to Ramwadi metro line, the services will remain operational all through the day. However, the trains will not stop at Civil Court station from 1.30pm to 7.
