A swanky Bath hotel has been given a new Michelin award which is reserved for the very best in the UK. is celebrating after being awarded a Michelin key, as Michelin awarded its first-ever collection of key awards at a ceremony held in London this week. The Bath Priory was one of just 123 hotels across the UK to be awarded keys, recognising ‘the most outstanding hotels in the UK and Ireland’.

Similar to Michelin stars, which are awarded to the finest restaurants in the UK, the new Michelin keys are a three-tiered award, designed to highlight the best places to stay across the globe. Michelin stated: “These are places that significantly add to your experience as a traveller, each vetted by our hotel experts and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; overall personality and character; value for the price; and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting”. Awarding The Bath Priory one key, which denotes ‘a special place to stay’, Michelin said: “Two adjoining Georgian houses with formal gardens, an outdoor pool and an intimate spa.



Country house guest areas are filled with antiques and oil paintings, and luxurious bedrooms blend the old and the new. Dine in the elegant restaurant, the more informal Pantry or out on the terrace”.
