Vadodara: An FIR of theft and trespassing was registered against a suspended additional chief judicial magistrate and two others at Bodeli police station in the Chhota Udepur district. The judge, AR Pathak , was serving in the Bodeli court as principal senior civil judge. The registrar of Chhota Udepur district court filed a complaint on Sept 30 after an inquiry revealed that Pathak had allegedly entered a sealed room and taken away some documents last month.

Registrar Jaydeep Shah said in his complaint that he had gone to the Bodeli court to hand over the suspension order to Pathak on Sept 17. ‘Pathak left the court at 6.10pm and took along 11 bundles the same day.



The office was then sealed in my presence,' Shah said in his complaint. Shah confirmed to TOI that Pathak was suspended on the basis of an order of the Gujarat high court. The FIR further states that the keys of the judicial officer's chamber, courtroom, and staffroom were given to peon Gopal Rathwa, who was asked to hand over the keys to the second additional district judge of Bodeli.

Shah alleged that the next day, on Sept 18, he was informed over the phone that the seal on the judicial officer's chamber, courtroom, and staffroom was broken. Shah informed the principal district judge, who asked him to conduct an inquiry into the matter. Shah went to Bodeli and learnt that judge AR Pathak, Gopal Rathwa, and home guard Subhash Rathwa entered the court by breaking open the seal.
