Genki Sushi Malaysia has achieved yet another milestone after receiving halal certification from the Islamic Development Department Malaysia (Jakim) for all its outlets in Malaysia. This certification marks a step forward for the brand. To mark the achievement, a special event was held at Genki Sushi in Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur.

In attendance was Genki Sushi SEA head of business, development and support Jun Uchida and Genki Sushi Malaysia country head Law Hwee Ching. “With Malaysia having one of the most stringent halal certification processes, receiving this is a milestone,” said Law. “This achievement is testament to our respect for the religious and cultural values of Malaysia.

“But more than that, it also highlights our dedication to growth while maintaining the highest standards across all of our menu items,” she added. Uchida said the Malaysian market was an important one for Genki Sushi, with tremendous potential for brand growth. “Malaysia can expect to see more Genki Sushi outlets opening.

“I firmly believe that with the support of our Malaysian customers, we will see the brand grow from strength to strength,” he said. In addition to announcing its halal status, Genki Sushi also expanded their menu with the introduction of new offerings at the event, allowing guests to experience the food first-hand. Visitors to Genki Sushi can indulge in Sashimi Moriawase, Spicy Salmon Maki, Unatama Tempura Maki and Trio Salmon Sushi, among others.
