Pune: Baramati MP Supriya Sule led a protest by MVA 's elected representatives demanding Ajit Pawar 's resignation as Pune's guardian minister for not being 'fair' in distributing District Planning Development Committee (DPDC) funds for the alliance members. The demonstrations were held outside Pune district collectorate on Wednesday. Along with Supriya, NCP's Shirur MLA Ashok Pawar, Congress MLAs Sangram Thopte from Bhor and Sanjay Jagtap from Ahmednagar City also participated.
Supriya said, "Never in the past as far as I can remember have elected representatives agitated to get funds for development work in our respective constituencies. We have been demanding funds for better roads, water, education, healthcare, anganwadi, but they are being declined." MVA members alleged that the state govt was selective while releasing funds to only Mahayuti members.
The Baramati MP said, "The three parties (BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP) came together claiming that they are forming an alliance for development. But how can development be only for Mahayuti members? The state has never witnessed such politics in the past." Sparks flew in the last DPDC meeting in Pune a few months ago where Supriya had alleged that Ajit Pawar did not allow opposition members, including herself, NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar, and Shirur MP Amol Kolhe, to raise issues.
