UFC superstar Jon Jones has sensationally declared he will vacate the heavyweight title with a win at Madison Square Garden this Sunday, saying he wants to instead “cherrypick” entertaining superfights – which could include a boxing crossover, Francis Ngannou showdown, even a hyped bout with Alex Pereira. UFC 309: JONES VS MIOCIC | Heavyweight champion and all-time great Jon Jones will defend his title against former champion Stipe Miocic | SUN 17 NOV 2PM AEDT | Order Now with Main Event on Kayo Sports. Jones also revealed however that a loss could see him retire from the sport. Already considered by many as the greatest fighter in UFC history, Jones is readying to make his first heavyweight title defence against fellow American Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in New York. Should ‘Bones’ win, most fans are clambering to see him then square off with breakout Englishman Tom Aspinall, who has spent the past year as the UFC heavyweight division’s interim champ.

However, Jones has surprisingly declared he will almost certainly give up UFC gold if he wins in devastating fashion, while also stressing he has earned the right to finish his career taking fun fights that give him satisfaction. The champ added his new future could involve becoming the face of UFC boss Dana White’s proposed move into boxing, while another option was a cross-promotion showdown with Ngannou. It has now been almost two year.
