Why Is Sunita Williams Stuck In Space For Over 2 Months? It is more than two months now, that NASA astronaut Sunita Williams is stuck in the International Space Station (ISS). A mission which was planned for only 7 days, got delayed unexpectedly due to helium leakage in Boeing's Starliner spacecraft in which Indian-American Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are stranded on the ISS. What Happened To Sunita Williams' Spacecraft? The Boeing's Starliner spacecraft was launched on June 5 and reached the ISS on June 6.

It was reportedly supposed to return by June 14. However, thruster anomalies and helium leaks in the spacecraft have delayed the Starliner's return to Earth. NASA and Boeing have not confirmed any return date yet.
