Prayagraj : The state govt has directed district coordinators of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan to ensure that PM SHRI schools in the state have an active presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). Coordinators are tasked with sharing at least one success story from each district, highlighting the contributions of headmasters, assistant teachers, students, or the community in these schools. A report on the status of fund utilisation for construction works under the PM SHRI scheme was presented during review meeting held in the state capital.

The PM SHRI Schools initiative, a centrally sponsored scheme by the govt, aims to develop more than 14,500 schools managed by various govt entities. These schools are designed to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for students, in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020. The goal is to nurture students to become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens.



UP has selected 1,753 govt-run primary and secondary schools under the PM SHRI scheme in two phases, with Prayagraj and Gorakhpur having the highest number of 47 schools each. In Prayagraj, out of the approved Rs 2.29 crore for the 23 schools selected in the first phase, Rs 1.

72 lakh (75%) has been released for various initiatives and plastering work has been completed in the selected schools. PM SHRI schools will also incorporate green energy systems such as rainwater harvesting, solar energy, solid and .
