If sunsets are your thing, then look no further than this secret, hidden gem beach that comes with glorious miles of golden sand and is almost always deserted. As well as the exquisite views at a ‘hidden gem’ UK beach, there is a wildlife -rich headland in a nearby country park and a Special Area of Conservation for those who enjoy exploring and walking. The UK has many beautiful beaches and coastlines for visitors to enjoy and a fair number of them are relatively unknown.

For those wanting a more peaceful seaside experience than the more popular seaside destinations offer, there’s plenty just waiting to be discovered. One of these 'hidden gems' lies just a 10 minute walk from a bustling, Victorian era seaside tourist hub but is often overlooked. Recent visitors to the beach have described it as "unspoilt" and "gorgeous" and a must see for those in search of breathtaking views.

West Shore beach in Llandudno, Wales is a much quieter option than the resort’s other beach at North Shore but is still quick and easy to get to. The spot is hidden away behind sand dunes with incredible views towards Conwy Bay and Snowdonia. At low tide, a huge expanse of sand is revealed, which makes it popular with kite-flyers and kite-surfers.

It is possible to take a dip in the clear waters, although it is shallow so at times will be more suited to a gentle paddle, making it great for children. It should be noted though that there’s no lifeguard, so diligence should be taken at all times. It’s the perfect spot to take a relaxing stroll along the sand while taking in the breathtaking landscape.

For those wanting a more energetic experience, you can join the Wales Coast Path or climb the nearby Great Orme Headland, which is a country park rich in wildlife and in a Special Area of Conservation. Recent visitors to the beach have shared their experiences on Tripadvisor. One wrote: "Really lovely beach.

Plenty of seats on the prom around it too. Coffee van and restaurants nearby. Great play park too.

Easy walk back into the lights of Llandudno too." Another wrote: "Wow such a gorgeous beach. Walked from Llandudno town in 10 minutes to soak up the September sunshine.

The tide out was stunning in the morning and managed to take another trek out with hubby to experience it. A lovely unspoiled beach fit for couples, families and dog walkers. Plenty of free parking and a much less commercialised area.

" A third shared: "Only 15 minutes walk from the promenade, but feels like a world away. There is a quiet beach, and even sand dunes to explore." Where is your favourite UK beach to visit? Let us know in the comments below.
