A stunning beach in Sardinia is now hailed as one of Europe's best-kept secret beaches. The Sinis Peninsula stretches along the west coast of the Italian island , with the entirety of the coastline well-known for its beauty. However, Travel + Leisure say that the "best spot" is located just outside the nearby village of San Giovanni di Sinis.

The tourism site states: "Located a quick stumble across the dunes from some bar shacks, this gem sits dramatically in the shadow of the ruined Roman citadel of Tharros." The Sinis peninsulas is less well-known than some other parts of the island . It's surrounded by a protected marine area and sits in the region of Oristano.



Among the peninsula's historic sites are the ancient villages of Tharros and Cuccuru, and there are also several hiking trails and kayaking sites nearby. It is located around 80 miles northwest of Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia. It takes around an hour and 40 minute sto reach it along the E25.
